Because our preschool programs are funded through the California Department of Education (CDE), families must qualify to receive state-subsidized childcare services to participate.
In preschool, your child will enjoy an array of individual and group activities designed to give him/her a good start in school. We help children develop language and reading readiness skills. We help them develop their physical, social and emotional skills. Studies show that children who start kindergarten with a good foundation of skills and positive attitudes do better in school.
We work closely with parents to make sure their children are making progress and reaching the right goals for them.
Daily activities in our preschool centers are designed to provide appropriate experiences in the following early childhood development areas:
Social Development - Getting along in groups, learning responsible behavior (such as sharing), respecting ethnic/cultural/age/gender differences.
Cognitive Skills - Providing experience with math and science, promoting children's curiosity about the world by encouraging observation, exploration and experimentation, building pre-reading and writing skills, fostering imagination and creativity.
Language Skills - Listening, speaking and following directions, learning to order their world through games and activities designed to give meaning to concepts such as: numbers, relational concepts and classification skills that lead to problem solving.
Physical Development - Developing large and small muscle skills, increasing body awareness, improving hand-eye coordination and perceptual skills, exploring rhythm and movement.
Emotional Development - Promoting positive self-image, fostering cooperation, developing independence, initiative and trust, participating in art, music, drama and dance.
